Event Details

At a time when news organizations are cutting to bone, reducing their investigative staffs in favor of cheaper day-to-day coverage, LA Weekly took the bold move of hiring one of the top editors in the country. As editor of the Las Vegas Sun, Drex Heikes brought the newspaper a Pulitzer Prize.  Heikes, an 18-year veteran of the LA Times, sought and hired top talent when he was at the helm of the Sun, and he promises to do the same at the LA Weekly.

Come hear Heikes speak on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Press Club in the Steve Allen Theater (Center for Inquiry West), 4773 Hollywood Blvd, (one block west of Vermont). Free parking. Metro: Red Line, Vermont/Sunset. Cost: free to press club members, $15 to non-members or $50 for membership package.
